Self-care is necessary to live a healthy, happy life. While the word might be somewhat new, humans have been practicing self-care for as long as we’ve been around. After all, if we don’t care for ourselves, how can we expect to function well in day-to-day life?
So you’re fooling around social media and everybody’s talking about new year’s resolutions. For some reason, the theme “weight loss” or “fat loss” keeps coming around this time of the year. The beginning.
And for some reason you chose, to read my article. Let’s see why.
Most people think of a great goal on on January first, mainly after a couple of drinks and extreme binge eating, that they will be losing 5, 10 or 15kg this year.
Obviously, they had the same goal last year, but for some reason, it didn’t work out so good. So what should you do?
It’s a day after holiday dinner (any holiday) and you’re thinking of all the binging and all those sweets you had last night. You’re thinking that this is a total setback and the efforts and sleepless nights that you had planning out your future self, just took a major hit.
You’re a regular at the gym, or you’re a religious working out guy/girl at home. You almost never miss a workout and training is a very serious thing for you. But you seem to be stalling.
Progress hasn’t come in weeks, or months or even years. you start wondering what’s the problem.
That’s easy (I am gonna repeat that phrase like 3-4 times during this article).
You’re missing the whole picture!
I have been away from my home this week. Specifically, I have been in Dallas, TX for some business meetings and a lot of people asked me what were my eating patterns while away from home.
Thought I would share with you how I eat while on vacation in general. At least in most occasions. It’s actually a very standard process for the last 2 years.
If you believe you deserve to have a better life and you don’t know how to do that, improve your life, you probably gotta read this one, extra carefully.
Loving yourself and living a better life. This may sound spiritual and psychological mambo jumbo, that is supposed to motivate you, but it really isn’t.
This article is about becoming a better version of you and learning to embrace self-development. No tricks, no hacks and certainly no advice that will transform your life in some mins.
It’s 8am, you just woke up and looking forward to going up on the scale. You realize that you didn’t hit your target weight for the week.
“OMG, What am I gonna do?”
You have hit a weight loss plateau.
Panic enters your brain and your heart beats too fast because you have become angry and a little stressed. You are in a dead end, you know that you’ve got to do something but you don’t know what that is.
Books are boring, they are used for decorating a library in the living room, or as a door stopper. Also, my personal favorite, to lift the screen of your computer. So what is about books why people keep publishing them.
Well, it’s because books are the most complete, dense and worthy source of information. Articles can be written by anyone. But writing a book takes courage and time, which very few are willing to sacrifice for the education of others. (Like we do @ Dutrition).
When was the last time you tried to lose some weight? Went on a diet for a couple of weeks, the scale didn’t move much and you just returned to your old habits?
Sticking to a diet is a bitch. No more than 20% are actually losing the weight and keeping it off.
But that 80% didn’t have my advice. You will not be in the 80%, you will be one of the few that have the knowledge to keep being on a diet for as long as they want.
One of the hottest topics around dieting is breakfast. I see so many people struggle with their diet and yet they make all these awful choices of foods that really don’t help them attain their goal. Believe it or not, there are actually people thinking that breakfast is a mandatory meal of the day (God forbid if you want to skip it) and the most healthy choice would be a toast with cheese and turkey, and a glass of orange juice (that’s for getting every vitamin you need, when you only get a small amount of Vitamin C).
Yet day in day out, the scale doesn’t move, the energy levels drop, and everyone goes around wondering what was that they did wrong.
